Keyawona Dixon is more than just the owner of Julandy's Isle; she is a testament to resilience, dedication, and unwavering commitment to family and community. As a daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, and mother of two beautiful daughters, Keyawona's journey has been defined by overcoming challenges and seizing opportunities to make a difference.
Born and practically raised in Leesville, Keyawona's roots run deep in her hometown. Her educational journey reflects her tenacity and drive, as she attended every school in Leesville except West. Graduating from Leesville High School in 2008 with a 3.5 GPA, Keyawona excelled academically while actively participating in various programs and societies, including ROTC, Hispanic and National Honor Societies, and even being nominated for prom court her senior year. Her dedication extended beyond the classroom, as she became the first teenager to work at the local Walmart, paving the way for future generations.
Undeterred by challenges, Keyawona pursued higher education at the University of Louisiana Lafayette, where she earned her Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration - Management and Info Systems. Amidst her studies, she faced the daunting task of caring for her daughter, Keyamya Smith, born with spina bifida, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to family amidst academic pursuits.
After graduation, Keyawona returned to Leesville, serving as a substitute teacher before embarking on a career at the Child, Youth, & School Services as a Functional Technology Specialist. Juggling her professional responsibilities with motherhood and graduate studies at Capella University, she earned her M.S. in Science IT Management.
In 2015, Keyawona answered the call to leadership as a first-line supervisor at the Overton Brooks VAMC, where she demonstrated exceptional leadership and service, earning recognition from the VA Chief Information Officer. Despite facing personal challenges, including caring for her father during his battle with dementia and navigating the complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic, Keyawona continued to serve her community with dedication and compassion.
Today, as the owner of Julandy's Isle, Keyawona embarks on a new mission to create a sanctuary of love and adventure for future generations. Her journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, love, and the enduring spirit of community. With Julandy's Isle, Keyawona endeavors to labor in love, honoring the past, embracing the present, and building a brighter future for all who visit.

It was on April 13, 1983, that Carolyn's life took a transformative turn when she met and married Frank. Together, they embarked on a journey of love and shared purpose, enriching each other's lives in countless ways. With Frank by her side, Carolyn felt the call to serve in leadership, leading to the founding of Greater Love Christian Center. For 27 years and counting, she has served as a beacon of light and love, touching the hearts of active duty military families across the globe with her grace and compassion.
Throughout her life, Carolyn has exemplified the qualities of a true pioneer, blazing trails of love, hope, and faith wherever she goes.
